Hey Everyone!!
I hope you enjoyed ‘The Intersection of X and Y’ by Rebecca McClanahan this month!! I without doubt did!!
Through symbolism, metaphor, and other figurative tools, McClanahan expresses various life experiences and human conditions in ways which force us to reassess and reconsider ‘the world at our elbow’ (or, ‘the world around us’, the former an expression McClanahan uses in her book, ‘Word Painting’). But if these twenty-nine poems lay at the intersection of her X and Y, one can only imagine what poems lay within the pages of April’s reading, ‘Naked as Eve’ by McClanahan, as well!
While many of you may have guessed, ‘Naked as Eve’ bares all as Ms. McClanahan delves deeply into her personal experiences exploring death, infidelity, divorce and other family dynamics in both an engaging and inspiring way. Of all her poetic works, I love this one most.
Hence if you’re searching for escapism—or even a fresh of perspective—this April, stop-by your local library and read, ‘Naked as Eve’ with me!
Many thanks, and we’ll ttys!!
Phil
