Blog Post #102: To Remain Uninvolved

Horacio bowed his head. “None if it makes sense. We’re in position to make a difference but aren’t allowed to.”

               “Wrong,” Serenity said. “We are not in position to intervene in human lives.”

               “But if our help betters someone…”

               “We can observe and our report findings. That is all.”

               He shook his head, and she sighed.

               “Horacio, it’s in the doctrine we’d agreed to.”

               “But that was before I’d witnessed humanity for myself. Goodness, I can’t understand how a Pole Town citizen could visit this world and then leave without an urge to help someone.”

               Serenity waved a hand. “You forget this is my third stint here, and believe it or not, it’s gotten harder and harder to remain uninvolved.”
